Weaponizing the Law: SLAPPs, Lawfare & the Fight for Climate Justice

Please join the Columbia Law School Human Rights Institute, the Columbia University Institute for the Study of Human Rights, the Business & Human Rights Centre, the Water Protector Legal Collective, and Amazon Watch for a timely panel during NYC Climate Week examining how corporations are using SLAPPs (Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation) to silence climate and human rights defenders.

Legal and advocacy experts will discuss how legal systems are being weaponized to suppress dissent, and the strategies that communities and movements are building to resist.
