2010 Advocate Bakary Tandia joined fellow anti-slavery activists Biram Dah Abeid, the founder of the Initiative for the Resurgence of the Abolitionist Movement (Mauritania), and Sean Tenner, who co-founded The Abolition Institute (USA) with Tandia, on a panel discussion at the 2025 Human Rights & Humanitarian Forum sponsored by the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative. The forum brings together leading humanitarians, legal advocates, scholars, and students to explore how we can work across sectors to build a more resilient and just world. Others at the forum included Chelsea Clinton and Nicholas Kristof.
