2016 Advocate Jeffrey Wambaya of ISHTAR MSM in Kenya presented two papers with senior staff from SAGE—Advocacy and Services for LGBT at the International Federation on Ageing 15th Global Conference, which was held in Canada in November. The papers were Advances and Challenges in Ageing Specific to LGBT People and Religious and Cultural Norms in Ageing.
Kemal Pervanic, who attended the 2012 Human Rights Advocates Program, and Project V Architecture of the UK recently won the silver prize for Europe from the the Swiss Lafarge-Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction for their project Restoring Common Ground in Prijedor, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On November 6 & 7, AARN alongside the Brown Grove Preservation Group, and the International Commission of Transitional Justice, held the Brown Grove Empowerment and Strategic Planning Retreat for the community of Brown Grove, Virginia.
