2021-22 Advocates Celebrate End of Program

The 12 participants in the 2021-22 HRAP received their certificates of participation on April 29th at a lunchtime reception attended by faculty, staff, students, and HRAP alumni. Advocates Mario D'Andrea of Venezuela and Dominique St. Vil spoke on behalf of the cohort and thanked staff, faculty, and students for contributing to their HRAP experience.

“Operation Olive Branch” was a cross-border operation launched by the Turkish armed forces and their jihadi mercenaries in January 2018. The Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) committed obscene war crimes and crimes against humanity, targeting Kurds and Christian communities. It beheaded Kurds, raped and mutilated the bodies of Kurdish women, cutting off their breasts and posing for selfies with their body parts.

On April 22, 2022, the Women and Gender in Global Affairs Network at the Institute for the Study of Human Rights and the Permanent Missions of Sweden and Ukraine to the United Nations together with co-sponsors hosted an online discussion on “Responding to the Invasion of Ukraine: The Impact of Feminist Foreign Policies.” The webinar brought together policymakers, analysts, and practitioners to discuss responses to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.  Click here to watch a recording of the panel.
