In which program are you enrolled and when is your expected graduation date?

Human Rights Undergraduate Major, graduating May 2025
What is your research focus? What drew you to this particular issue/set of issues?
My research mainly revolves around the right to education, specifically higher education. Moreover, I am passionate about the intersection of higher education and disability rights/activism. Higher education exists as the gateway to realize other human rights, as well as significantly improve one's quality of life. Further, as I have a disabled sister, disability rights have always been personal and important to me.
Which class would you recommend to other students interested in the same issues as you?
Human Rights in Theory and Practice, taught by Professor Widney Brown.
Where did you grow up? In which countries and/or cities have you lived?
Harrisonburg, Virginia.
What is a must-read for a human rights student?
John Locke's Two Treatises of Government.
What are your goals (professional or academic) after graduation? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
After graduation, I plan to attend law school in Boston, MA. While I have yet to commit to a school, I hope to practice either family law or civil rights law in the future.
What is your hometown/area famous for?
Harrisonburg, Virginia is located in the historical Shenandoah Valley, and the Shenandoah River.
If you were to start a bookclub, which book would be first on your list? Why?
Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler, because it explores both climate change and social inequalities.
