On Thursday, October 30th, the Institute for the Study of Human Rights hosted a conversation with H.E. Ambassador Jürg Lauber, President of the Human Rights Council and Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the United Nations in Geneva. The talk was moderated by Human Rights M.A. student, Céline Pfister. Gergana Halpern, ISHR Deputy Director, gave introductory remarks.

Remembering the Life and Legacy of 1990 Advocate Felipe Michelini

On October 21, ISHR and the Human Rights Institute at Columbia Law co-hosted  the 2nd Annual HRAP Memorial Lecture, "The Struggle for the Realization of the Principle of 'Nunca Mas' in the Life and Legacy of Felipe Michelini.” NYU Professor David Donat Cattin delivered the lecture which focused on contributions that 1990 Advocate Felipe Michelini of Uruguay made as a human rights activist and practitioner to the promotion and protection of the rights of victims of crimes against humanity and gross violations of human rights.
